Prior to Christmas (2024) we were approached by a ‘Botanist’ with a (Unsolicited) Request!
The request related to a (very) small area within the field nearest to the Lobleys Drive area, asking if we would consider ‘renting-out’ an area for the cultivation of Dahlia(s)? That’s a strange one, seeing as most other approaches have been for either the Standing Grass or to house Stock (Sheep, Goats) Horses and even Alpacas.
Having initially ‘chatted’ for a couple of hours, we were happy to consider it – subject to confirmation of further details, and of course – subject to the relevant documentation being submitted to Natural England for their approval! Any associated costs of such – to be bore by the ‘Botanist’ in question.
Basically, we would (subject to the above) be happy to support the ‘Botanist’ at no charge (no rent payable) in return for their assistance in the Management of the Site known as Hucclecote Meadows (East!)
Watch this space for further details & updates, as the process is sure to be not that fast….
You are more than welcome to amble, walk, stroll or even jog across the land, all that we respectfully ask is that you stick to the public right of way, and pick-up & take with you any rubbish or waste that either you or any in your party have dropped/discarded along your way through or across our land!
